What oil?

What oil do you guys use in your v6

i use nothin but the motorcraft 10w-30 synthetic blend. with a Fram oil filter.

what do you use?

You should be using 5w-30 with a Motorcraft oil filter. Those Fram filters are junk.

haha who said this is a what oil is best thread?? im asking what oil you use... and if you think the oil threads are dumb dont come to them and start posting becasue i wouldent want you to read to much about oil. but anyways. y what is wrong with the fram filters?

i used to use a motor craft filter. but i just wanted to change things up a bit.

and also y 5w whats wrong with 10w

It's not that oil threads are dumb, it's just that the topic is brought up quite often and simply searching on the subject will answer any questions you may have about "what oil do you use"... "which oil is best"... "which filter".. etc.

I used to use only use Fram filters until I read some really good information on this site about why they are not the best. *Hint* search "anti drain back valves" and you will find one of the many reasons of why Fram is not recommended. Good luck.

Because our 4.2L is designed around 5W-30 oil. 10w is more viscous and takes a bit longer at startup to coat everything. Also means the engine has to work harder when its cold outside. I highly recommend you go back to 5w ASAP.

well anyway sry i asked dint know that it would be such a bad thing to ask... but i guess i was wrong. so anyway. sry but i dint see any oil questions on the v6 forum so thats y i asked it.

I don't know about you guys but my truck says 5w-20.


So, normally I use Mobil 5000 5w-20 with a K&n filter.
