Is it still SPi?

I was wondering if my '07 still uses Split Port Induction?

I remember that my '99 had a cover over the throttle spring and cable that said 4.2l SPi. So my '99 definatly had it.

I am assuming it does, by the fact that it has an IMRC system.

There's nothing wrong with my truck... it's more of a curiosity thing.

Anyone know?

It's split port induction...

After reading a SAE article about it, I fully understand it.

Interesting stuff... so basically all v6 F150's from '97 to present have SPi.

False! The V6 is no longer being produced for the 09's so I think you should re-word that as:

"Interesting stuff... so basically all V6 F150's from '97 to '08 have SPI."

Wher'd you read that article at? I'd love to learn anymore more about my own engine!

Who cares when you get this.

Ford has reported that a smaller diesel engine will be an option for the F-150 in the near future, making it the only half-ton pickup in the U.S offering a diesel. Ford recently had said it's going to be a 4.4L V8 derived from the euro-built 3.6L diesel that is currently used in Land Rovers. It has an estimated power output of 330 hp (246 kW) and 515 ft·lbf (698 N·m) of torque.

Nope. GM and Chrysler are both working on small diesels too.
