Unhappy 97 4.2 with codes PO 1132 & 1152 and a lot of black smoke....

Hi new here, need a little help, recently picked up a 97 reg cab short box with 170 k on its 4.2. Pulled the codes tonight and found PO 1132 twice, cleared codes and got it back again with the second code PO 1152 which translates to "lack of HO2S11 switches - sensor indicates rich" and "lack of HO2S21 switches - sensor indicates rich" respectively. Am I back out in left field again or are both of my upstream 02 sensors shot? The old exhaust was rotten behind the passenger side cat, new one is spraying jet black crap and smoke all over the yard.... ran some seafoam and it has improved alot... help please i wanna get my truck on the road my neon is embarrassing an its killing me!

Thanks

im not an expert, but im guessing the black smoke is an exhaust leak probably from the muffler. i had a tiny pin-hole crack on the exit pipe of my muffler once.

I'd say something along the lines of a o2 sensor that needs some attention.

Other than that... maybe you have the worlds first F150 diesel. j/k

My 97 did the same thing before i replaced the engine...i had alot of engine sludge and carbon build up in the old motor....but the black stuff only seemed to come out of the exhaust a first start up of the day same for you??

Sorry for the delay gettin back to you fellas, but the weather here has been too nasty for me to get at the truck, every road in both Grey and Bruce counties were closed until early this morning (not even the plows were running in most areas). Did I mention I now officially hate winter. I' ve checked the exhaust areas that i can reach for any holes but everything seems tight with no apparent holes, black crap is dribbling out of the tailpipe at idle, smokes black continually, but worst after revving her up and letting rpm's back down (wish I had a diesel lol), Now Im getting codes 135, 141, 155, 161, 1132, and 1152 after clearing the original 1132 codes. Gonna try cleaning the 02 sensors upstream of the cats first... any tips on getting at them?
