What Exhaust??

What brand or system sounds good on a V6? I'm looking for a deep tone not something that sounds like a Honda

First off... I don't think you can get a Honda noise out of this engine. Second, try some Flowmaster 40's SI/DO with some chrome tips. Thirdly, get the Flowmasters, and make smoke stacks... as that would look totally freakin' awesome... and sound wicked cool too.

Slowmaster 40's will just drone and hurt your bottom end. Think Magnaflow.

Magnaflows

I went with Magnaflow single in dual out and feel like I drive a Honda?? You will never get the deep sound you want with a V6.

I've heard some pretty deep sounding 4.2's but I don't know what they were using.

A V6 is a V6.

It will never sound like an 8 when you floor it.

It WILL sound like an 8 at lower RPMs.

I have a 4.0 V6 Mustang with Pypes Street Pros.

Under 2500 RPM it is very deep sounding (GT owners have asked me how I like my GT...)

Over 3000 RPM it screams like a Ferrari 246GT (also a V6).

The mufflers are what make the difference in tone.

Most loud mufflers have some drone but you can get used to it.

2003 F150 - what ELSE do you have in that truck besides the SIDO? Just curious because I've got a 2007 STX that I want to wake up and have do similar to what yours is doing!

Do you have a CAI in there too?

x2. Slowmaster = cab noise, lost torque, and annoying sound anyway.

Maggies: SWEET!!!

if you want a loud beefed sound from a 4.2l, just buy a thorley jardine side exhaust system. it's rated at 95 decibels. also, performance can be increased by up to 56 hp

Unhappy "Blown" V-6

I've got a pre-production break, '97 F-150, Ext-cab, sbed V-6/5sp. It's got just a tick over 110k on it now and the passenger side cat setup just blew out big time! I knew I had a little exhaust leak for awhile now, but now I have NO torque and a host or other abnormalities. Does anybody know of ay better; ie:cheaper or better performance solutions than going back with the O.E.M. 2 cat-per-side setup? My state has no emissions laws, or yearly vehicle inspections. Any help is appreciated!!!

jardine styled exhaust systems can increase your torque 200+ in some cases
