problems with the 4.2?

Im looking at getting a new truck...see my posts about my old truck. The stipulation from the financers (parents) is that it has to be a v6. So are there any major problems with these engines I should know about? Anything to look for when buying a 4.2 truck? Thanks for the help

You say you're buying a "new" truck. New to you or new as in 07 model? Also what kind of rates do your "financers" offer? Also, why are you limited to v6? If it's gas mileage you should bring them the specs from the 4.6. It's only 1mpg different.

Then you need to do some research on the model years in question and hydrolocked engines. Try the www.v6f150.com forum. When you get to the page click the "forums" link on the upper left top.
