Trouble Code

Anyone ever get a P 1537 "Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open"?
Also, any ideas what I should do to fix it?

You probably have carbon build up. It will require you to pull the intake off to clean it.

Is there any other way I can get rid of carbon build up? Without taking off the intake.

Try seafoam. It cleans carbon like nobody's business. It can be found at any auto parts store in the fuel injector cleaner isle. Just follow the directions on the can, and BE SURE to change your oil and fuel filter afterwards. You might have to do the seafoam treatment twice if your engine has alot of carbon deposits.

WARNING! : If you don't change your oil and fuel filter soon after a seafoam treatment, it can cause problems like degrading your oil, etc. Also DO NOT drive more than 50-100 miles until you change your oil and fuel filter after a seafoam treatment.

Good luck.

Yeah I was thinking seafoam, but I live in Canada and can't get it here. Anyone passing through Winnipeg in next little while?
Or, is there any other way I could clean out the carbon? I spoke to someone at the Ford dealer and they gave me a quote of 3.2 hours + $90.00 for the diagnostics. I don't think so.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
