Duty station, in germany. Qualified 11xray/ in Vilsech germany (ranger training) why the q's??? this is about trucks!

my v6 runs great

hey guys i know theres alot of people talking about how the ford v6 is a pice well i have got a 1997 f-150 extended cab v6 with 140000 on it and it runs like no ones business i drive it back an forth from college and back home i tow around my boat and drive it on threw farm land and on rough pasture roads and i have had not one problem with my v6, the other day i actually beat my buddies 1998 chevy silverado with hte big 5.7 350 in it dont get me wrong i would rather have the 5.4 but the v6 is working fine for me

You're right around when they die. And you won't get much warning if any. It will run perfect one day and the next time you start it it will hydrolock and break the internals, costing you about $4000 for new engine. So I suggest you have the intake gasket replaced on it. It's worth it. I would have had it done on my 98 but I could not tell if I was in the right serial #'s cause the cheap numbers wiped off with the grease. But I should have spent the money and had it done. Now my truck is in the shop right now getting the engine replaced. 130,000 miles. And I replaced the oil every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic.
