Magnaflow's tiny race mufflers are louder, but come in larger pipe size than you need. Try a Dynomax 4" round by 12" long bullet race muffler.

I don't know how strict your jurisdiction is, but here in Texas they look to see that your muffler is "there". This muffler design looks like a number of other mufflers. I've seen them pass inspection here many times. They don't look any stranger than a glasspack. I doubt they will ask about manufacturing specifications and measure decibel levels.

i just got my exhaust on yesterday and it sounds good for a 4.2l. my friends said it sounded nice and pretty loud. i just dont really know what kind of muffler it is. i think it is some kind of glasspack or something. it looks like a tube and has two y connectors on the ends of it. when i find out what it is ill let u know.

i found out what my exhaust is.... it is a glass pack. im going to get the cats cut off some time to make it louder. i can really feel the hp and torque i gained. me and my friend raced last night and i let him get a head start a little but. he has a gmc truck with sraight pipes on it and has a 5.4 engine. and i still beat him. once i got passed him he started to slow down. he said " once u passed me i new i wasnt going to catch up". so i love my exhaust i just wished it was a little bit louder. but it is fine the way it is.

From your initial description, I thought it would be a glasspack. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I have a Flowmaster 50 with 3" in/out on a 2003 5.4L FX4. I put it in place of the stock muffler and I used all the factory pipe. The shop did a great job getting the factory 2.5 pipe to work with the 3" and it sounds great all for 80.00. Iam happy with it, but I read about the loss of torgue over a Maganflow. I just wondered if this type of mod is popular enough for any feedback?? Is there any info in regards to there actually being a loss of torque, because i didnt go with a 500.00 exhaust system???

Glasspacks do get somewhat louder over time.
