I have a 1997 Supercab with 195,000 miles. Should I start worrying about intake leaks yet!

are you having to add coolant jim?

if it was built later in 97 you might never have that problem it was mainly the ones built in 95 and 96 released as 97s in 96.

Smile Most Miles?????

I have a 1997 Supercab with 187,000 miles shooting for 250,000miles. Have had a few worries at different times after hearing about all the 4.2 problems but have lucked out so far.

I have a 1988 F-150 with 258,000 miles on it. Just changed plugs last weekend and not a drop of oil on them. Original 300 straight 6 not even a new valve cover gasket. I'v had the truck for 12 years and drive it almost every day.

4.9 straight six is the best motor in the WORLD!!!
