Anybody over 100,000 miles with factory engine
2000 F-150 5.4 240,000 miles on original motor. The only thing I've done to it was changed out the intake manifold bacause the plastic broke off and ran through the cooling system and stuck the thermostat open. I'm running Goodyear wrangler 37 12.5 17's
1998 xlt 170,000
1998 4.2 2WD XLT single cab standard bed 5 speed manual. Owned since new, I have been fairly good on preventative maintenance. This truck has not been babied, I pull trailers, haul cubes of bricks, drive like Dale Earnhardt, and live in Michigan with all its weather fun.
Let's see. Most recent to oldest, new battery last year (crapped out on a sub-zero day, but started by the time I came home with the new battery - replaced it anyway, I got my money's worth), 2 years ago - new alternator, exhaust finally rusted through, new serpentine belt and spindle. 3 years ago - new front end, uppers, lowers, tie rods, finally gave up on Goodyears and got a set of Michelin LTX M/S that I love. 4 years ago wheel covers fell apart, got a new set on ebay.
Still have original radiator, water pump, rear brakes, clutch and throw out bearings. Countless oil and filter changes, about 4x front brakes (I always go high end with pads and rotors)
I get about 13-16mpg like everyone else.
As I sit here typing this, my truck is in a hotel parking lot. Headlights went out. High beam indicator lit up, headlights both low and high went out, check engine light came on. Any ideas? All other lights are working, fuses all look good.

I currently own 2000 F150 XLT V6 5spd all stock except for the battery and exhaust manifolds which were rotted out completely it is at 120000 and the engine is great, the truck could use a clutch though.
Before this I sold a 98 4.0 SOHC Explorer at 182000 with original engine and transmission which also ran great but had the transfer case and front diff replaced with units half the age which also leaked and it needed front wheel bearings .... again...
Being that the F150 has a 3.55 rear diff 2wd 5spd it is rated at around 2500 pounds of towing capacity and the Explorer with 4.1 ratio and an automatic transmission was rated at over 5000 pounds of towing capacity.
With both vehicles I have towed around 6000 pounds on trips of over 800 miles... this is why the transfer case blew a part in the explorer I guess...
I only use Castrol High Mileage in all vehicles over 100k.

195,100 miles on 04' w/ 5.4. Only thing done so far was change battery and idler pully. About to change though, transfer case just locked up this morning. Kinda scary, sent us sideways down icy highway at 55 mph. Luckily no one was headed towards us.
111,000 miles and running great
My 1999 F150 has 111, 000 + miles on it and it runs perfect. Probably because I take excellent care of it. I use Mobil 1 oil which gets changed every 5,000 miles. Best of all, the Mobil 1 stays in the oil pan and not on my garage floor. I've never had a single oil leak problem.
The transmission is working just as good as the engine, no leaks, no problems.
The only thing that ever went bad was the alternator, which I replaced a few months ago. This took me about 30 minutes to do. I also replaced the battery twice.
When I can afford to, I'm hoping to buy a new F150 Raptor. If I do this, I'll probably keep my old F150.

300,000 miles +
I have a 1998 f-150 with over 300,000 mile stock motor 4.6l and 40r70 tranny. The only thing i have changed is the rear end to an 9.75 with disc brakes. This has been my best car yet bought it brand new in 1997 and its still with me and an everyday driver. The truck has had a 5/7 drop in the biginning, then a custom 13" lift with 39" micket thompsons and now it has a 2/4 drop with 24" tires. So its like they built Ford ough and going i also have an 2003 explorer 6cly. and a 1989 4 cly.
