Anybody over 100,000 miles with factory engine

I have a 1997 4.2l V-6. 5-speed, 2WD. I bought new. Has 308,500 miles. About half miles city (Atlanta) and half highway. New clutch hydraulics at around 200,000 -- there still was a little left on the clutch plate.
Put new starters in twice. Just replaced the solenoid on the firewall. Did the timing-chain cover gasket leak at about 175,000 miles or so.
Replaced the alternator at about 225,000 miles. Not sure if alternator was bad or just voltage regulator, but did not have time to mess with it.
Replaced heater fan at around 150,000 miles.
Has original tranny, u-joint and rear-end.
Replaced rotors a couple of times. Replaced rear drums once -- the shoes wore out the drum.
I have just encountered an issue with cylinder #1. No compression. Still working on that. All the other cylinders are still giving me about 170 PSI.
Other than that, just changing spark plugs every 100,000 or so and wires every 75,000 miles -- they seem to start "leaking" at about the same mileage every time. Think that about covers it.
Not sure if I can say, but used 10-40 Pennzoil the entire time. Every 5000 miles or so.

114,112 miles. im the proud second owner (my brother was the first)
my family is noted for being hard on pickups. well my brother was hard on this one and i am kinda to. 114,112 miles and nothing been done to it except U-joints, brakes, clutch and master cylinder.
change oil and filter every 3,000 using MC 5w20 with motorcraft oil filter
my brother says it still runs like the day he drove it off the show room floor.
all that is not stock on it is i invested in 2.5 inch duals with a 2 in 2 out cherry bomb sounds amazing. new stereo and grille guard and running boards.
other then that its completly stock and is still running like a champ.
note:most relaiabl thing we own. i remeber i few months ago when it was -30 degrees for about a week straight this thing started every morning without missin a beat. nothing will stop this pickup! i love it
my family has owned this pickup since the first mile was put on it. and i will own it until the last is put on it.

Over 100K
I own a 1997 Ford F150 w/6 cylinder engine. Bought it in 1997 with 15,000 miles and now have close to 125,000. No major problems except front right brake pads kept hanging up several times over the past years. After replacing pads a couple of times, I learned the real problem was bad brake lines to both front wheels. Other then replacing the tires at 60,000 it has been a great truck. I keep the oil changed regularly, but have been considering going to synthetic oil. Any thoughts?

Long time since i've visited this site, but i had to come back to post a few questions to the wise.
1997 4.2 v6 manual 4x4 with 150k rounded up on the clock. Water pump gasket started to leak, so i'm replacing water pump, most serp pulleys(Idler and tension) and ran into a snag. My truck has a salvage title on it, and even though it's "Technically" worth jack crap if i were to sell it, i'm still gonna end up spending a couple hundred on parts just to keep it sitting around for the MN winters.
Love the truck, and enjoy how rough i can be with it, and it still holds together. BTW, that's 148,9xx on the stock clutch as well. Next summer while the car is on the road, tranny is coming off the truck and doing that, rear main, and u-joints.

2000 XLT ext cab 4.2 5spd 2wd 163,000. Had a new clutch done at 120K new radiator at 140K everything is factory except for the topper that is really made for a superduty. No worries though, it is coming off shortly. Good truck. Any recommendations for the best part supplier for suspension rebuilds?? Want to stay stock to max 2" lift. Thank you for any advice

You could either go with a 3" body lift or put in the factory 4x4 blocks under your leaf springs and get a 2" leveling kit for the front. Either of those options would put you around the same height as a stock 4x4.
