v-6 engine

i had a rod break because of a water leak and want to know if i can use any rod from another ford 4.2l v6. are they the same weight, or do i have to buy a complete set, thanks

You can use another rod from another 4.2. They aren't built to be set specific. Just make sure its a good rod. Personally I think I'd buy a single rod from Ford. But hey go for it.

why not just get the 4.6v8 convertion kit and drop that in there?

i have already purchased another motor for three hundred because the cylinder was chipped on the bottom of #4 but the original motor is much cleaner. i have since decided to use all the pistons out the purchased block rather than mix them with the original one. thanks for the replys

Is there really a 4.6 conversion kit out there, or are you BSing?
