Unhappy Accident

Did'nt know where else to post this. Friday 28 Feb I re-ended another F150. The roads were wet, had been raining for two days. The car in front of him had stopped in the left hand travel lane to make a left hand turn. There was a left hand turn lane but he was'nt in it. The guy I re-ended stopped in time but I did;nt. I probably hit him doing 35-40 mph. My F150's front end is smashed bad but I was fine and two days later still feel pretty good considering. I have no pain in my back or shoulders. This was my first accident in a air bag equipped vehichle. My truck may get totaled but the air bag system worked great. The brakes worked. I just stood on the brake pedal and felt the initial grab but it took too long for the wheels to get traction to slow me down. If it was dry, of course, I'd probably would not of hit the other F150. His truck was drivable. Bent his bumper up under and the left rear quarter panel buckled. Yes it was my fault for not seeing them in time, but this is typical of Virginia Beach drivers. I'll Know Monday if the truck is fixable or not. Hpoefully I'll have it back on the road soon.

Glad that you are ok! Hate that about your truck, but if it is totaled, you get to start all over again with another F-150!

Well this may make you feel a little better:

And her car:

At least her was wrose than mine

A woman with no insurance cut in front of me I hit her, but it was her fault. I put the truck in the shop over two weeks ago, on Feb. 15th the day of the wreck. And have yet to get the truck back. I was supposed to get it back thurs but the new bumper they put on it had a scratch in it so they had to put a new one on. Well the new one they got on friday was messed up too so they have to get another one. Also the lights needed to be fixed a little better they werent sitting strait neither was the piece that goes around the grill. So monday it SHOULD be ready.

If you could sell yours, that would make a hefty down payment on an 04' model. Btw, don't worry yourself about if your going to wreck again or not. More than likely you won't. So don't worry. Drive slow and wear your seatbelt. And most of all, have fun! In my best Jamaican accent, "Don't worry, drive happy mon!"

Hehe...

It funny you say I most likely wont get in another wreck...This has been my second wreck since I have had this truck. (less than a year) Neither wreck has een my fault. Since I have gotten this truck I have taken excelent care of it and changed my drving habits since I have had so I dont mess it up. Not only have I been in two wrecks with it, it has alson been broken into once. Well to top it off I have made 3 insurance claims on this truck in less than a year non of which were my fault. But evrytime something happens it happens to the worst. The first wreck a guy ran a yield and I hit him well it couldnt be proven since he lied and since it was at 1 in the am. Then once the truck got broken into ins. didnt cover any of the stereo that was stolen (lost about 2000 bucks there). Then this wreck well it was her fault she admits it and doesnt have insure so im stuck paying for it once again.

I have had some ****ty *** luck since I have had this truck. Im tellin ya Im about to break down and cry. (hehe) And just to say **** it and sell it and get a new one. But with my luck I'll sell this one and the same thing will happen with the new one .

D*mn man! That sucks! If I were you, I'd buy a security alarm for the truck. You'd have a better chance of it NOT getting broken into again. As for the accidents, I'd get full coverage inurance so no matter who's fault the accient is, your truck will be fixed no questions asked. Yeah, it costs a little more, but it more than makes up for itself when you need it.

Picked it up...all in all its pretty good. Im still going to try and mess with the corner light a little more a the trim piece that goes around the grill. Its been ranin all day so I couldnt really check it out at the dealer as much as I had liked but over all its good. Although I did notice one thing when drving home...the steering wheel isnt lined up or somethign in stead of it sittin straight when I drive straight it kind leans to left it look slike im aming a real real wide left hand turn so Im gonna go back wed. since otmarow is mardi gras and have them fix it.

I'm glad your happy with the job they did on your truck Hazard269. Remember not to wax that new paint for at least a month or two. I hope they get your steering fixed back right. Keep me posted on how things work out.

Why not wax it? I think they all ready waxed it at the dealership, or they at least put somethign on it because I could see some white stuff still on it around the places that they didnt hit with the buffer all the way I guess.

I'll post the pictures of the new valance tomarow with out the lights. If its not raining, it will give me something to do since Im not going to any of the parades for marid gras tomarow.

I don't think your supposed to wax a fresh paint job, but they may have had enough time for it to dry before buffing it out. I dunno. I'd like to see a pic of your truck. That would be cool. Btw, why are'nt you going to mardi gras? My sister-in-law's Mom is going to that. I've never been, but I hear it's one hell of a party.
