Question 2004= not more 4.2?

Looks to me like the smallest engine there will be is a 4.6 v-8. Looks like our engines are going extinct.

http://media.ford.com/products/press...423&make_id=92

anyone got any other news on this?

yeah, did you notice all the spec sheets show an auto as standard equipment and no mention of a 5 speed. i am sure that they sell quite a few 5 speeds. i guess they are giving that market to chevy and dodge?

Manual transmission-5 Speed

First year production will be automatic only. Manual transmission returns in 2005.

So i guess it is just going to take them a year to get prodution capacity up to full after switching to a new platform? I will probably get a v-8 on my next one(if they ever prove they solved the oil leaking heads), but i would still like the 5 speed manual option.

Yea, I noticed the 4.2 & 5sp was gone also. I see that my color (Pacific Green) is gone . It is also gone on the 2003 models as well. First I have looked so maybe it has been gone for a while.

I do not like the looks of the 2004, but then again I remember back when the 1997's came out I did not like them at first either. But they grew on me and now that I own one I really like their looks.

So who knows in time I guess I might like the 2004's.

i love the looks i think they look sweet...

and if the manuals had the shifter smaller kind ain the console area like they did in the pick ( i think thats what it was) then id get a manual...the only reason i didnt want the 5 speed in the 02 f-150 is bc i didnt liked the way it looked....

but mean i think that lightening looks mean...altough i havent seen the specs on anything yet

but i like and i wish i had one
