Has anyone driven their 4r70 hard?

I have a 2002 Scab.
The trans has had a shudder when I launch hard (both in or out of OD) since new and it's getting worse in that I don't have to floor it to feel it now (6000 miles). I told my service advisor and he said drive it until it fails. I don't think it will be much longer.
Since I'm going to add a Supercharger, I am going to try to wrangle a 4R100 replacement. Stranger things have happened.

I frequently drive my 2000 model year truck hard (not beating on it or spinning the tires - no towing) with a Superchip and AF-1 Air intake. WOT many, many times....high speed driving periodically. Never have had a problem or any indication of a problem in the 26 months I've owned it. Engine and tranny are solid. No door cracks either (yet).
Not sure what is going on in the 2001 and 2002 trannys.

I wouldn't say I drive it hard all the time. I would probably drive it harder, but I can't stand the way it shifts. Maybe if I had a shift kit in it and chip. But then again, I will never add that to my truck. My truck was a year old yesterday with 25,600 miles. No problems so far.

I installed the shift kit and a fat trans cooler at 19,000 miles as a preventative measure to hopefully add longevity to the trans. Now I'm looking at getting the microtuner and 4.30 gears with a softlocker.
I realize that you have low mileage and might want to leave well enough alone, especially if you are satisfied with what you have. Me, I see it as having that many more miles to enjoy the mods I'm doing now!
Good luck.

Since realizing very early on that my 1999 4.6 4R70W Ford Expedition is really a Crown Vic with a weight problem in disguise, I've taken to rolling the gas on from a stop and trying to avoid high-rpm upshifts. I was hoping to baby this transmission into old age, but at 53,000 miles a flashing TCIL and an occasional false neutral between the 2-3 upshift told me I may have wasted my efforts. My baby is at my local friendly Ford dealer having a new 2-3 shift accumulator installed as we speak. Wish me luck.

I just wondered if anyone has driven theirs hard
6 years and 125,000 plus miles on mine. Did the Sonnax valves and Transgo this past summer and it is still pulling hard. I drive very hard with lots of WOT runs. I also tow a 5000 lb 5th wheel frequently so I think most of you guys can RELAX. I am amazed my 4R70W is alive and well...

Well i think i got most of you guys beat. i had over 160,000 miles on my tranny with out any real probs till i took it to a place here in san angelo and they didnt put a u joint on right and cracked my extension housing and tranny housing and screwed up the tranny. it was a very good tranny and went through hell. makes me wonder if it could have gone over 200,000?
