BOW DOWN TO THE EAST AND PRAY TO THE GODS OF AMWAY/AMSOIL!! MORE MISINFORMATION FROM THE CULT!! Actually ALL Mercon V, REGARDLESS of manufacture, is a synthetic blend, that's no big secret either. Amway/Amsoil would have you believe this is a closely guarded secret on the part of Ford, and no, their ATF does not meet Mercon V specs. Unless you have anything to say, aside from regurgitated Amway/Amsoil propaganda, SHUT UP!!!! You've offered no proof of anything on the part of Amway/Amsoil other than some lip service. Perhaps you Amway/Amsoil cultists would be better suited to panhandling at the airports along with the hare krishnas, moonies, and Jews for Jesus.

OH THANK YOU!!!! YOU SAVED MY LIFE AMSOIL/AMWAY GUY!!! I'LL KISS THE GROUND YOU WALK ON!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!! BARF!!!!!! You have all of the finesse of a butter knife performing a circumcision. I'm sure you can tell us all of the intricate details of a rear end. Chances are, the factory fluids are most likely manufactured under contract for Amsoil/Amway by the same contractor supplying Ford. Can you prove otherwise, or will you simply regurgitate some BS on the part of Amsoil? Better get your Amsoil/Amway sea daddy to dope you full of crap, that is if he's not going door to door handing out copies of "Hart's Lubricant World" along with "The Watchtower."

Jim MC:

Hope this helps. I had a 97 F-150 SC 4x4 4.6L auto trans. It developed the same shudder you described and was persistant from 34-39MPH (on my speedo, which with my tire swap made my actual MPH right in the 40-45 MPH range). It was most harsh and consistant at exactly 36 mph on my speedo which was approx 41 MPH actual speed. It would do this constantly at this speed while under slight load (like mild uphill). It would shudder approx every 3-4 seconds and move my tach 50-100 rpms when it did this. It continued to worsen so I took it to the dealer. They told me the transmission "valve body" was broken and that they completely rebuilt it under warranty. I picked it up and took it for a spin. I duplicated it's preferred conditions to induce shudder and nothing... It was completely fixed by the "valve body" rebuild. I just pulled my invoice (dated 3/13/00) and it shows my complaint of trans shudder and occasional hard shifts. It lists the cause as "burned direct clutch." It shows "transmission assembly- R&R" for $258. "Transmission assembly- overhaul" for $229. Control valve body assembly-main- overhaul" for $57. "Electronic transmission diagnosis- diagnosis" for $86. A few parts and flushing of all trans fluid from the trans, cooler, and lines for total of $115.56 in parts, $688.81 in labor making the grand total $804.37. I hope this helps you and I further hope that if this is your problem it's still under warranty. I don't know if they fixed all that to soak Ford or if it really needed it... All I know is my trans shudder went away and it shifted like new.

Kilroy,
you sure are rude considering your new member status.
Your total lack of respect is causing you to lose any credability you might have earned by supplying facts.
Take your marbles and go home.

I second that. MS is a respected member here and just because he is passionate about one of his favorite products does not give justification for your outbursts. Control yourself please.

Question

Respected member compared to whom? He's a half-wit of a salesman who spouts false and deliberately misleading information in a very poor and second rate attempt at peddling his wares under the guise of "helping" individuals. He doesn't know motor oil from Wesson oil and you could take all of his interest in motor oil, mechanics, and knowledge and MAYBE fill a thimble. Like I said, he has all of the finesse of a butter knife performing a circumcision.

Kilroy, I think you need to chill out a little. It's only motor oil anyhow. But at the very least, please stop being rude. I have a hard time taking anyone seriously when they always get so nasty.

Love me or hate me? You decide. You may or may not care for my interrogatory style, but many will agree with the core of what I have to say. Mercon V, ALL Mercon V is a synthetic blend, regardless of whose label is on the bottle. Period. The cult of Amway/Amsoil considers themselves the watchdog of Castrol, WHY? They deliberately present misleading information and avoid pointed, direct questions, and disregard ANY information that is not disseminated through their great deity and spoon fed to their mindless automaton members. If questioned directly about producing evidence of wrongdoing by Castrol, they merely point to various internet discussion groups with no real factual value and say, "Here's our proof." I could probably make a good case for the inferiority of Amway/Amsoil products; set up some phony web discussion groups decrying the evils of Amway/Amsoil, replete with some questionable "articles," and have beacoup "proof." That's what the Amway/Amsoil faithful have done. What would be the difference? Unless they have any BONA FIDE proof of their otherwise baseless allegations, they need to lay off and shut up. It would seem to me, Amsoil/Amway would be hard to take seriously with this method of advertising on their shoulders. I do know the cult of Amway/Amsoil has many products that ARE NOT API certified. In light of this, WHO are they to judge Castrol? You get what you pay for.

Look, I'm not some just got off the turnip truck yesterday yahoo like you seem to think we all are. I can tell when someone is jerkin me around. I take what everyone says with a grain of salt. MS has earned my respect. I have argued with him myself. He is polite and respectfull every time. He can take it with the best of them. However I have never gone as far as you in doing so. Believe me, I am skepticle of many things but I can take care of myself with out you. Your trying to "teach me" right from wrong is clearly dissin me dude. Do us all a favor and chill out.

I am not in any way trying to "educate" you or anyone else, but would like this Amsoil/Amway cult to refrain from their campaign of misinformation and slander in regards to Castrol. I've been observing msparks for some time, and find him to be down right ignorant about automobiles and motor oil, of which he professes to be an armchair "expert." If he's selling things, fine, say so and leave it at that. His sales approach and genuine lack of experience are purely blasphemous, particularly when he starts touting Amway/Amsoil and deriding ALL other products. His only "proof" that any other products are "bad" is his Amway/Amsoil literature. Like I said, love me or hate me, just be honest and tell the truth. Oh, and reciting the same old stale Amway/Amsoil rhetoric is NOT proof, Sparky.

Folks,

I must deeply apologize for a serious mistake that I have made.

I have heard from some very sharp people that the current Amsoil ATF is Mercron V rated, however I have checked with Amsoil for verification and got back this message:

"Although we will soon have a Mercon V, our present products are not recommended for use where Mercon V is required."

Please disregard my previous recommendation, I'm normally not this scatter-brained and I apologize again if I caused anyone some confusion.

Oh well, being human gets fun sometimes.

Randy

Kilroy,

Good luck buddy!

Though I sure wish you would email me with your specific problem that you have with me or Amsoil. Instead of being ridiculous on here. All of my information comes for Amsoil or other Companies websites and such. I do not make up anything!.

Amsoil's ATF lowers your temps 20-50 degrees, this is proven,

Amsoil's ATF is guaranteed for 3 times what the manufacture recommends.

Nothing more nothing less. Please find me some information that disproves this. I would like to have it!!

Otherwise keep you crap hole shut!!
