Post Replaced transmission by Ford

My 4r70w transmission failed at 32,000 miles. Ford is replacing it under warranty. Dealer says ford will not even let them look in side the failed tranny. Must return to ford in tack for there study. My question is , is the replaced transmission new or rebuilt and is it any better than the original?

You must have had one of those special green tagged tranny's everyone is talking about. I would assume it will be new?

It apears to be a quality control program that some of the Tranny's get tagged to be returned if they have any problems rather than be rebuilt. The dealer si forbidden to rebuild them as Ford wants a look at them for some reason. There is another thread close by where Factory_tech explains it.
