Holy resurrection! This thread was over a decade old with no activity. Whoa, Nelly. At least we know you exhausted the search feature before posting.

I have a FactoryTech valve body and still use my SuperChips programmer to increase shift pressure. Not sure if the FTVB is more capable of handling higher pressure than a factory one modified by a shift kit, but I've had no problems so far (they've both been on the truck over 5 years).

Good luck!

I would HIGHLY suggest the valve body kit from Troyer Performance. Trust me when I say that you get what you pay for.

I love bringing these old threads back from the dead!

Is one method recommended over another? I would assume the chip route is favored simply due to the higher level of precision you have with it all being electronic (plus the synergistic effect of the other mods the chip/programming makes) versus mucking about in the tranny for a shift kit, but that's strictly a guess.
