transmission cooler

How can I find if my truck (bought a used 2000 F150 4x4 offload) has a trasmission cooler?

look at your radiator.....if you have more then 2 hoses hooked to it you've probly got one, the basic radiator w/out a tranny cooler has an upper and lower hose and 2inches in diameter...if it has a tranny cooler you would probly see I think 2 smaller hoses hooked the the radiator....I'm not to familiar with the newer models.

The easiest way to tell if you have a transmission cooler is check what type of transmission you have. If you have an automatic, you have a transmission cooler. EVERY automatic transmission has a transmission cooler. They won't live without one.

Now you may or may not have an auxiliary cooler. To check for that, look for two smaller hoses on one of the radiator tanks. One line will go to the transmission. If the other also goes to the transmission you don't have an auxilliary cooler. If the second line goes somewhere other than the transmission it is going to the auxilliary cooler.
