Last week I posted a question about changing my transmission fluid and how much the dealer wanted to do the job. Well I stopped in an Auto Zone at home after I checked at the dealer and they told me that Mercon V was a dealer item only. Oh man this was going to be an expensive fluid change. Well tonight I stopped at a different Auto Zone to get a master cylinder for another truck and just thought I would ask if they had the Mercon V, the guy behind the counter said I think we do and I thought yeah right! Well we walked back to the back of the store and guess what...........there it was Mercon V and it was only 2.69 a quart. A far cry from the 5.36 the dealer wanted. The filter was only 12.99 compared to 30.00 from the dealer. Needless to say this is going to save quite abit of change over the dealer. I just thought that someone maybe interested that there is Mercon V out there and not just at the dealer. Sorry so long.

 

I've seen MERCON V at K-Mart and at Wal-Mart.
