4R75W High RPMs to Engage

This is actually a 2004 Expedition, but it's the same tranny as most 2004 F150s, I believe. I'm hoping one of you has experienced this issue and solved it. Hoping to avoid a rebuild, but not all that optimistic. I have to rev the RPMs to above 3K to get the drive to engage. Once engaged, shifting is smooth until I hit overdrive, then it will slip into N. With OD off, I can drive it around just fine. Reverse is fine.

I've removed the VB and see the OD servo is fine, as is the snap ring. Plan is to rebuild the VB (although everything moves), replace shift solenoids and try it again. Pretty sure that's not going to help, but wondering if that has solved the problem for anyone else? Sad part is, the 2004 is specific to the 2004 - can't swap any other year. This is a hard to find tranny.

Thanks

Nothing in the valve body is going to help. Either are new solenoids. It's rebuild time.

Were you able to find the issue? Did you check your 1 2 accumulator spring? I have the exact same issue on my 2008 F150 5.4.
