I have 2012 Ford Ranger 2.2 Auto. Which automatic transmission fluid to use. Mercon V or Mercon LV ?

I check from manual, that it is Mercon LV.
Another question : If I drain out the old automatic transmission fluid , what is the amount of the new liquid to fill it back ? 7.5 qz 9.0 or 10 qz ?

 

7.5 quarts , 9.0 . or 10 quarts . ?

 

If you are talking about just removing the pan and draining the transmission, that doesn't drain all of the fluid. For my 2002 F150, I just drop the pan, replace the filter, and refill with 4 or 5 quarts every 20k miles. mine holds about 14 qts total.

What I have always done when draining for the first time, keep all the drained fluid and with a measured container, measure how much you took out.. Put in what you took out..

Works every time for me..
