Hello yall

I'm new to this formal. I have a 1997 f150. I replaced the transmission in it. The drive shaft is 2"to long. The transmission that was in it had a hump in it the one I put in it is flat they are both 14 bolt pan. Can someone tell me something.

It's probably a 4R70W.

What engine do you have? What is the TRANS code on the door jamb sticker? Is yours 2wd or 4wd? Don't you have any idea what the replacement transmission came out of?

That was the same type of tranmission I took out. It has Rf-f4-ap7006-ac on the tail shaft. I would think if it was the same type of tranmission I took out the drive shaft would work.

Sounds like you might have bought the wrong transmission for the truck. You don't want to mess up your driveshaft and find out the transmission won't work.

I'll second that. It's not the same transmission. Don't do that.

I don't think I will cut the drive shaft. I believe in doing it the wright way. I found another tranmission at scrap yard. It is in an 1997 expedition v8 4.6. the same motor I have.

It has Rf-f4-ap7006-ac on the tail shaft. If that helps anybody. Also has pke-f2 on plate on passenger side.

If your truck and the Expy are both 2wd or both 4wd, it should work.

It bolts up to the block. But wiring harness is different. Linkage is different and can not hook up drive shaft. Drive shaft is 2"to long
