Trans Fault Codes

2005 F150 4.6L, 2wd. Truck started bogging down in 1st/2nd i believe, over-revving and having a hard time shifting in and out of 1st, 2nd, and possibly 3rd. A Trans Fault message displayed. Had the truck scanned and P0731 and P0732 were the codes. I lost over drive about 2 years ago (see previous threads) due to the notorious retaining ring breaking. Anyways, do you think this possibly a faulty speed senor or TCM? Or should I prepare to replace the trans? I won't be wasting my money with a rebuild. Thanks Guys!

It's rarely the computer. If it were a bad speed sensor you'd have a code for a speed sensor. Most likely this is a mechanical problem inside the trans.

If you're not going to waste money on a rebuild, then your only other choice is a used trans, right?
