Upshift problem
1999 F150 with Auto-transmission..
After crossing some railroad tracks my F150 wouldn't upshift to 3rd.. While I was rolling along I shifted it to neutral and then back to drive with no change.. After reaching an ATM machine 3 blocks away and the reason I was traveling I shifted into park while using the ATM.. It drove normally after getting back on the road... Is something loose that could cause this..??

Do you know if it would shift down into 1st while it was acting up? 2nd is the default forward gear if electronics fail. So maybe the shift solenoids lost power somehow? I would think that should throw a code, but stranger things have happened.
But there are several things it could be. If the shift solenoid didn't get power to energize for any reason, that'd do it. If there is a valve or the 2-3 accumulator hanging up, that'd do it.
How long has it been since the fluid has been serviced?
