2005 f150 transmission issues/slipping out of gear
Started having issues with my truck a few weeks ago. The truck is a 2005 f150 with a 4.6 v8 with 229k miles. The truck, when driving in the 30mph-50mph range, doesn't seem to go down to the correct gear causing the vehicle to travel slowly or if you press the gas harder it will usually rev as if it's not in gear. When the problem first happened, turning off overdrive seemed to help. Now, you either have to slow down and speed up slowly or if you rev it up and let off the gas it can go into gear hard sometimes.
From research I've done online, I read that the coil packs could be bad causing a misfire. I replaced all the coil packs with genuine motorcraft packs and genuine motorcraft plugs but the problem still persists. This previous Monday and Tuesday mornings were the first time I actual had codes show up. When I tried to take off in the morning it almost felt as if someone was holding the brake and the truck said transfault. I hooked up my programmer and got the codes. The codes are:
-p0622 Generator Field Terminator Circuit (I don't believe this code has anything to do with the issue. Alternator was replaced 6-7 years ago and the battery light has been on ever since because it wasn't the Motorcraft alternator)
-p0720 Output Speed Sensor Insufficient Input
-p0722 Output Speed Sensor No Signal
-p2106 Throttle Actuator Control System Forced Limited Power
This morning I replaced the output speed sensor and the issue still persists. I'm trying to figure out what exactly is wrong obviously to get it fixed but also so I don't just keep putting money into the wrong parts. I bought the truck with 165k or so on it and the guy I bought it from towed a lot as he was a Charter contractor. I mow yards and tow with the truck probably 30% of the time. I know the vehicle has had years of wear on it and I don't know when and if the transmission fluid was changed. The fluid is full, red and doesn't smell burnt at all.
Next things I'm possibly looking into are to change the fluid (if I just drop the pan it doesn't change most of the fluid though), figuring out how to check the wiring, possibly throttle positioning sensor (this year you have to replace the whole throttle body though), or just the actual transmission.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance

Yes, I have someone who,in the past, fixed quite a few transmissions that is going to help me. From my research, most people recommend changing the trans cooler because it could flush bad stuff back into the system, possibly the torque converter, epc, and rebuild kit with at least all seals, gaskets, clutches, bearings, steel bushings. O rings, sealing rings, bands and filters. Looking online it seems that the 4r70w, 4r70e, 4r75e and 4r75w all use the same rebuild kits but need to get the right years kits.

Not sure if you've seen it yet but I emailed you through your website. Do all these use the same rebuild kits? Also, do you recommend replacing the transmission cooler, shift kit and torque converter also? I'm seeing almost a 50/50 split about people saying you need to so it doesn't mess up the repaired transmission or saying it's fine.
Are there parts you recommend upgrading while inside the transmission that are inferior or fail often? I have a 2005 f150 with the 4.6 v8 with the 4r70e transmission. I mainly tow with it. Generally about 100 -125 miles a week maybe if that with a trailer/mower combo that weighs about 2800 lbs - 3000 lbs.
Thanks
