Shift sensor location

I have a 2004 Ford 150 with the 4R70E transmission. I am wanting to know where the shift sensor is located. Thanks.

What "shift sensor" are you talking about, and why do you need to find it?

There's no such thing as a "shift sensor". Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about.

Started shifting hard
Insufficient data.

There are two shift solenoids. If there is problem with either one the trans won't shift. They can't cause harsh shifts.

You need to get the codes read. The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.

Thank you. It is also slipping. Transmission fluid looks good.

If it's slipping and the fluid level is correct, then you probably need a rebuild. There won't be a cheap fix for this. Mark can tell you what happens internally when slippage occurs.

This, of course, assumes that when you say it "slips", that's actually what is happening.

It takes 3-4 seconds of slipping to overheat and damage a clutch. If it's been slipping for 10 seconds the clutch is destroyed.
