92 f150 wont shift after tranny flush

I had a transmission flush done on my 92 f150 auto. 220k miles. It worked but shifted hard before I had it done, now it won't shift past 3rd gear. Any thoughts? It's the e4od trans, and the fluid used was farmoyl brand ATF fluid. No lift kit, has 235-75-15 tires and its 4x4

Was the fluid Mercon or Mercon V? If not, you used the wrong fluid.

You should use MERCON V. MERCON has been discontinued.

The first step to determine what's wrong is to get the codes read. Without codes it's all a bunch of guesswork.

The question is - what spec does that Farmoyl fluid meet? If it meets Mercon or Mercon V spec, it should be okay.

Is this the fluid you used? http://www.farmoyl.com/products/tran...ssion-fluid-dm

If so, I don't think it's the best choice, but I don't think it would cause any harm and it didn't cause your problem. This link says it is for use where MERCON was specified, but not to use it in MERCON V applications.

My thought is that the transmission was about to die from whatever was damaged inside. Flushing the fluid didn't fix the broken parts inside and it died. I think it's rebuild it or replace it time.
