4r70w to aod

I have an 01 f150 that is a work truck that the tranny went out on I need it running for little cost I have an aod sitting around will this swap work

No. It won't bolt to the engine.

what about with a bellhousing adapter PLATE

It will bolt to the engine if it's a 4.2, but you won't have a speedometer, odometer, it won't run right, and you may also have driveshaft issues. It won't even shift right without a TV cable.

That would be about the most expensive route. Getting an inexpensive stock rebuild from someone who knows how to do it or taking your chances with a used transmission that comes from a quality yard offering a warranty would be the least expensive.

With the right plate you can adapt any transmission you want. The problem is getting a custom plate made that WORKS probably costs more than the right transmission would cost.
