Bump 04 4r70w

Hi Guys: I had to wait for all the snow to clear. I found an 04 4r70w Transmission with about 8,140 miles on it from a v6 Heritage. We installed the transimission in our 97 and it also doesn't have the vss sensor but it does have the same tail shaft with a blank cover. So I just want to know if there is a sensor that will work for us. Thanks, ahmad

Probably not. If you take that plug out you'll find that the sensor will mount, but there is nothing inside for it to read.

Hi Mark: Sounds like your the man who should know! I was trying to get some info before I bought the trans. but I got a great deal on the trans and the low mileage. It's ten years old now and it seem like that after all this time some one would have come up with something. Like a speed sensor kit. Powertrain Control Solutions (sns 5001) has a kit for the drive shaft. It has a two piece collar with two magnets and a sensor. Thanks again.
