Best service manual for 2004 F150 trans / transfer case?

Simply put, my tranny is leaking, a LOT, from inside the bellhousing.

I am in need of either a professional transmission shop to deal with this, or knowledge on how to take care of it myself...

Since I don't have several grand burning a hole in my pocket, I am leaning toward the DIY route, however the Haines manual is, well a bit sparse when it comes to dealing with automatic transmissions.

Can anyone point me to a good, well written manual for this truck that covers things like tranny R&R, seal replacement, torque converter troubleshooting and R&R...

I suspect I am going to end up in a shop, I just want to be sure before I have to soil my financial underwear...

Either get the Ford manual from http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r= or one from Automatic Transmission Service Group https://www.atsg.us/atsg/.

Thanks Mark, I actually found the info I was looking for on a different Ford Truck forum last night... That is a good link, but WOW those prices are steep for those DVD manuals...

You can get a Chiltons or Haynes for FAR less money. They also have FAR less information. And much of what they have is wrong.

I have a Haynes, and it is pitiful at best. I understand Chilton is published by Haynes nowadays, so that isn't a good option any more... I got an allegedly factory DVD from an Ebay seller. Not sure how to verify the authenticity, but I figured it was worth a shot...
