Clutch Replace - Exhaust & Other Q's 98 F150 SC 4x4 4.6

Looking for tip on exhaust flange bolts, mine are worn down, broke left upper already, probably gonna break lower then drill them out (have room underneath now). Is manifold side thread really needed or simply new bolt through and tighten from bottom good enough? Assumed I had to remove both sides to get tranny back in properly. Had removed tranny by sliding back and removing clutch (more room) to get it out originally, but that won't work setting up the clutch install.

As for clutch, finally got everything out (after torsion bar issue, see other thread) and will be putting back together soon: flywheel resurfaced, new clutch slave, rented pilot bearing puller, new rear seal (need bracket gasket yet).

For thread lock, is medium strength (red) good enough for all bolts, or should I be using something better for the flywheel & cluch bolts? As well, will the paste reduce the torque applied to the bolts?

Sorry for being wordy, no pics, haven't figured out load up yet.
