So what if I pick up a used one via the parts department at work? It would be super cheap. All I would have to do is straight swap it in right?

Thats alot of good info. I could get one pretty cheap I would assume. I would get a dealers discount.. so just like as though a dealer was purchasing the part.

Well its safe to say that I toasted my old trans. My dad helped me drop it out this morning, and the fluid is a nice brown color with the smell of burnt clutches. It was a little bit low on fluid(or so I am told), but it wasn't enough to have it run hot. Apparently it was just "its" time to go. Luckily we didn't have to take the exhaust out or even lift the truck at all to drop it either .

The new trans comes in monday so the truck is ready for it to go in.. just a waiting game now. I have a question. I am told that I need to get my ECU reflashed when the new trans is put in, and I have no idea where I should go to do that. Have any of you guys got yours reflashed and where did you do that?

I don't know why you would need to get it reflashed if you are doing a straight swap.

A C6 won't bolt to a 4.6L. There may be an adapter available.

Thats what I was thinking. The guy at monster said I should reflash it so that the computer doesnt think I still have the old trans in it. I appreciate the response. I probably wont get it reflashed.
