Well see thats the thing. If I knew that darrin wouldnt charge that much then I would say I would do that. What would be the difference between if it was a drag car set-up or not? I am not going to push it to its limits or anything, but to be honest I dont know much about transmissions other than what they do haha. The only other thing is that if I buy one of these then they will ship it to me and they need no core. Which means I can creep around in my truck for now until the new ones comes in and then its just a straight swap to a nice set-up. No waiting ya know?

Here is a heavy duty version of the same transmission.

I think this would be just as nice. But is the race trans worth the extra 300 in the long run? The $$$ isnt the issue.. its what I want .. and right now. IDK

ya that is nice, I honestly dont know the exact differences or if there is, but I would be willing to bet that a drag car would be setup different than a 6k pound truck that is daily driven and running 35+" tires and may need to tow at times...I would wait and see what darrin says before you spend that kind of money!

I didnt think about it that way. That makes sense.. I wonder what the difference in the heavy duty trans is vs the SS

The C6 was never made with the modular bellhousing pattern. The strongest stock tranny that will bolt up is a E4OD/4R100.

Well I guess it doesnt matter now. I do appreciate though!

I just purchased a fully built 4r70w from monster transmissions. I read the reviews on them and everyone loved their transmissions. The guy who would have been rebuilding my transmission even said he has used them before, and that they are great people to deal with. I got the transmission, torque converter(with anti balloon plating), and a whole case of fluid for just under 2k. Im happy with that and it should arrive in 7-10 business days. First impression is pretty good with the place too, the guy was really nice and he even helped me out on shipping everything. Good customer service so far. The trans comes with a 3 year unlimited mileage, no hassle warranty. AND they told me if I send a video of myself doing a burnout and talking about what trans I put in my truck then they will send me a check for 96 bucks

Darrin has been VERY ill lately and is behind currently. Give him a few days to reply as he is trying to catch up.

i call B.S. on these transmissions, no way in hell you can build a high quality performance 4r70W for under $2000. i guarantee you that they cut corners, i'd look up reviews on this company. re-manned 4r70w's are $2000 from ford and that's a stock rebuild.

Go look at the site if you dont believe it. They tell you exactly what they do to them, and if that isnt enough they have a extension you can go to when you call that has people waiting to answer questions about their parts if thats all you need. And really? 2k is a big chunk of change just to throw around. I dont see why that wouldnt be enough to build a nice transmission.

This is very true. Our excursions 4r100 went out and we opted to rebuild over buying their $2900 reman trans.

ya I got a "deal" on my ford reman and still paid about $2100 installed (this was before I ever thought about built trannies and before I would have been comfortable installing it myself...oh how things would be different now! Those monster trans look nice, I just hope you talked to them and told them how you plan to use it but Im guessing you did...I hope it works out well for you!

Thanks! Ford doesnt give anything anyway man . I am sure they would have some guy at the water fountain charging a quarter per drink if they could. I had to buy a IAC from them and it ran me $156. I told them exactly how I planned on using the trans, and they told me that it would work perfectly. I do not plan on racing the truck or anything, but I am going to be seeing what it can handle every now and then. Their only recommendation to me was to install a torque converter with anti balloon plating. With the exception of that, they suggested I install an auxillary cooler for the trans just for longevity which will be done as well. If it works out I will be sure to provide a testimonial and vise versa.
