97 4r70w replacement
F150 1996 1/2 ton cab swap to 2001 3/4 ton frame abs problem
Hey guyss i have a little problem here, im just finishing making the 1997 cab swap onto the 2001 frame, the abs and the speedometer dont work. Should i take the harness on the 1996 to put on the 2001?
96 explorer 5.0 4r70w into 95 f150 5.0 4r70w?
The harness repin info is out there on the internet. You might have to search a little, but it's there.
Can't use a 4.2 transmission because it has a different bellhousing pattern than the 4.6/5.4 pattern.
On those numbers, unfortunately there isn't any decoder out there to know what the differences are exactly. Usually though, if you choose a transmission from the exact same model truck you have then you are ok. If you swap for another one then you might have to change something. Again though, no guide exists for that.
Sorry I can only help in such a limited way.

Great thread. I am hoping one of you has an answer for me. I have a 2000 F150 4.6 4x4 and the tranny just went out a few days ago. I want to replace it with a 2000 5.4 4x4 transmission and I found a few here https://reman-transmission.com/trans...es/?code=4R70W that are all remanufactured. Their sales staff has no clue if it will fit of course and I am waiting to hear back from their tech team. Do yall think it would be a direct bolt-on?
To put a 97 trans in a 04 Heritage it needs a repin.

EDIT: I wouldn't recommend it. See my reply to you in the other thread.
