Slipping with ratcheting sound

Hi,
Ford 1999 F250 XLT - 4.6L V8 FI (W) the upgraded 150, 2WD

Transmission is slipping or I hope torque converter or the lock. Slips on any acceleration any gear other then lightest peddle pressure on level ground. Seems to get better when warms up a bit. It makes what I can only describe as a ratcheting sound. Did drop the pan and filter change about 20k ago when I had a radiator cooling line leak. Fluid level is fine looks clean, etc. Wanted some sage advise or suggestions before I bring it to the shop. Thank you!

The sound makes it not good. Most likely time to take it in as it sounds like an internal issue.

It's not the torque converter lockup clutch because that isn't engaged in all gears.
