problem shifting into OD

Overdrive issues??? My transmission was rebuilt about 35,000 miles ago. Around 45 - 55 mph, its tries to go into overdrive but cant. It hits the gear over and over until I give it more gas. My ATF level is a little high. Would this cause this? Any remedies?

Too much fluid can cause a lot of problems. Get the level right and see if it's any better.

I siphoned almost 2 quarts of ATF out and added some conditioner. The level is still a little high. I will probably be taking more out but I wanted the conditioner to not go to waste. The shifting problem is still present but not nearly as much and not as harsh. I think I will need to get a transmission flush and new filter. The ATF is pretty dark and slightly burnt smelling. I hope that fixes it completely. thanks
