Measurement of transmission oil

Hi all, after making the change my transmission oil, the latter is operating perfectly, even better than before, the concern I have now is that when I measure the oil level, if I do cold, always lacking, if I do hot have the right level, the rod does not indicate cold or hot, so I have this concern. It is a FX4, 2007. Thanks and regards.

Just as illness95 said, check it at normal full operating temp. Engine idling and trans in park.
