I resently purchased a reasonaly clean 94' F150 XL with bad tranny. I am not familiar with the application and installation would greatly appreciate some knowledge to my request. What years and models of cars and P/U's with E4OD transmission can be donor with minimal retrfitting. From previous experience and research I understand 96' and 95' releases have to most updates and corrections. Although this may sound trivial to some, will a E4OD from same year fit all engine sizes/models or are there ovious differences, ex.: Will E4OD removed from 95 E150 van w/ 5.0 V-8 be functional in a "95 F150 P/U w/ 300 I-6? If not drop in swap, what is required make it work?

Thanks for your time. Like many who post, P/U will have limited use( Lowes, HD,errands on WE) and remain parked 95% of the time, so funds are very limited and I am trying to avoid the "rebuilt" and reinstall route.

A trans from a 4.9L, 5.0L, or 5.8L will work. It also has to be a 4x2 trans if yours is a 4x2, or a 4x4 if yours is a 4x4.
