Screw a 4r70w

So I'm done with my stock tranny. It ate another converter last week, that'll be number 3. I've had it built twice now, and dropped about 4 or 5 times for various issues. Does anyone know of any companies that make bullet proof trannies for street/strip applications for a 2007 f-150? I need something that will handle all the ponies my truck can throw at it. I'm just glad it's tax season, because I know where my check is going.

Maybe talk to one of the diesel companies, ATS?, about a trannie, maybe a 4R100? Have you looked at what the Lightning guys are doing?

Read my sig... been beating on Darrins tranny for several thousand miles now... It ****s n gits, been sideways at 60mph rolling launch this winter on dry cold asphalt. I've towed with it, which actually resulted in interior damage to the trailer from my lead foot. sorry brother!

I hear this all the time about places charging outrageous money for a product that just fails. Trust me, most places don't have a clue how to build these transmissions.

nope, 4r70w. I found out the company that made the converter for me this last time warranteed it, so I guess I can just put a new one in untill I decide what to do permanently. I just want to drive my truck. 2009 was a bad year for it.

That is a "Not exactly" because there were exactly 0 4R70W transmissions made in the 2007 model year.

Listen to Darrin. 4r70/75 are very similar. after a certain year which I cant remember the 75 was in and the 70 was out. was around the time of the 04 body though.

I thought that 07 V6's and 4.6's still used the 4R70W, the 4R75E was only used on the 5.4's?

the 4R70W does not have a turbine shaft speed sensor which all 04+F150s have. The V6 and 4.6 F150s from 04+ got a 4R70E and the 5.4s got a 4R75E

Looks like it's time for the management to update the transmission info thread! It doesn't even have the 4R70E in there, and it claims the 4R70W was used through 07.
