auto For manual?
Nah my buddy in Commerce did it to his Chevelle and he's getting better gas millage and less fuss with the auto rebuilt was cheaper too. But he had to change the PCM too. Was just wondering if it's possible. My torque converter just gave up and they want $900 for a rebuilt one. Clutch is only 160$ or so.
The difference between a chevelle with a 3 spd transmission that has no lockup and the transmission in yours makes the comnparison like comparing grapes to watermelons. $900 for a rebuilt torque converter? IT better be billet front cover, and rated for 600hp+. You can go get a reman from the dealer for $150 and most any decent shop should put it in for less than $400 including fluid. The question becomes what damage has it done to the transmission and cooler.
