Taurus transmission problems question

I'm a ford fan, have a F150 and 2 taurus. Replaced the trasmission in the 1997 taurus my daughter drives. When it was all done, wish I had dropped the thing off at the junk yard, but that's a whole different story.

Anyway, I have a 2002 taurus that is in perfect condition. Can I expect transmission problems out of this model? I had the dealership flush the transmission at 50,000, now it has about 56,000 on it.

The dealer said the whole Taurus transmission issue was due to not flushing them at 50,000. I regularly changed the fluid in the 97, never did flush it.

Does the dealer know what he is talking about?

Thanks

Not entirely. Taurus transmissions have been a problem, but the problems were pretty much fixed by 2002. Flushing the fluid on a regular basis will help extend it's life.

I also have F150 and two Taurus. If you are concerned about transmission, you may want to add an aux cooler.
