Reverse Only!
Ordered a new TC, forward drum, Master kit today from wittrans.com. They had the best prices and customer service I have ever experienced, and I'll have it all tomorrow. If you need anything these guys have, look them up. If you call to order, ask for Linda, ext 1227. Should have it done by Mon. since I work a 24 tomorrow. I'll update when I get my parts.

Parts in yesterday afternoon as promised. Everything was packaged well and as described. Master kit has Raybestos frictions in it and everything matches up perfectly. Taking the old parts to the parts washer today and will putting it back together after that. I'll post more pics as I'm putting it all back together.

I was going to post more pics as I was putting it back together, but my cam crapped out on me. Anyway, I got everything back together and everything but first gear works great. Reverse is good, second is good and drive is good. If I'm pulling away from a dead stop I have to put it in second for it to move, then back to drive and it good from there. I've pulled the VB and went through it again, resistance checked all the electrical parts inside the VB and everything checks out okay. Any ideas? I'm not above pulling it back out and apart and double checking everything, but some direction would be great. Oh, and a book on the 4R75/4R70 would be great if anyone knows where I can find one.
Again, any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks again,
J

Are you getting a flashing OD light? Have you tried to pull codes? Not trying to say there's an electronic issue, but you need to make sure it's clean before you mechanically tear into it again. I don't care how good you are with trannys, today's electronics add a whole new dimension to how a transmission works.
K. Thanks. I've pulled the codes with the Xcal2 and only got the ones I stated before at the beginning of this post. I pulled the codes after I found that 1st wasn't working and got nothing.
Someone on another f150 forum said that I may have torn the seal(s) in the forward drum when I put it back together. They said that the forward clutch is the only clutch engaged when the tranny is in 1st. Can anyone confirm this is most probably my problem?

That's what I was thinking. I would lose everything forwardly speaking if the forward drum seals were torn, because I would never get up the speed needed to activate the OD band, right?
Anymore ideas? I know I've got to pull it...AGAIN, but I'd like to have an idea what parts I'm going to need before I get it out in hopes that I won't have it down for too long this time. Thanks,
