So today Somebody decided they would drive 25 in a 50 Mile an hour zone. When the time came, I opened the throttle wide and attempted to pass the driver. Well when the transmission downshifted into First gear, it hit about 2500 RPM, then Engine bogged down for a second, then corrected itself. I was shocked. So I found an open side road and from a stop, punched the accelerator. This time at about 1700 RPM it bogged down, and then at 2600 it did it again, and then returned to normal. I Made one more heavy acceleration run, and it bogged down for a second at 1600 RPM, and then shifted into second gear at 2100 RPM. Way too low of an RPM for the amount I had the accelerator down. It doesnt hard shift when it does this, it just bogs down. I honestly didnt know where to post this, cause I wasnt sure if this was a transmission error, or a throttle problem. Any Ideas before I cry to Ford?
How full is you gas tank? With my truck once it gets to 1/4 tank and you accelerate hard, all the gas sloshes to the rear of the tank causing it to suck up air/not get gas. It feels like it's bogging down and shifts to the next gear right after it happens.
hmm....interesting. I've never heard of that happening. Since I live on big hills, I wonder if that can happen on a steep grade. I'd hate to stall out the truck in front of a Cable Car with no brakes.

The tank was pretty low. Under 1/4, pretty close to E. I never knew that was possible. But its a good thing to keep in mind. I did replace the fuel filter, and it did stop the deep bog down. My tank is under 1/4 again, and now I just feel a slight RPM drop. Like its bogging down cause of wind friction. But theres no wind at all outside, and I wouldnt think a 0-40 Hard acceleration would cause that much wind resistance. Maybe theres still an air bubble somewhere in my line, after replacing the original Fuel Filter.
Maybe your tank has a lot of crap in the bottom and it's getting sucked up - a tank drain and flush may be needed.

my '95 f150 did that same thing, it wouldnt even run above 1800 rpms even in first gear. i took the truck to the local ford dealer for a scan, ended up being a bad TPS (throttle position sensor), it was stuck in the idle position so it wasnt telling the computer to pump more fuel through the injectors at anything more than 1/4 throttle even though the throttle was on the floor. replaced it and havent had a problem since.
