6 speed Tranny

SO, i havent taken my gov off and i get to 95 mph in 4th gear at 2500rpm, thats no where nearall the power i got, i think if i took the gov off i could get atleast 120, but how hard would it be to atleast drop in a 5 speed transmission, or even a 6 speed?

If you are talking about an automatic in that truck, no, you can't easily put a 5 or 6 speed automatic in, and it won't do anything for you anyway except give you a bit more pull off the line because 1st gear is lower. Top gear is pretty much the same ratio in all 3 transmissions.

Like glc said... No matter how many 'speeds' a tranny has, it's top gear is still only going to be around a 0.7:1 ratio... Maybe 0.6, but it'll start to bog the engine down at that point, just going thru the air at over 120mph...

Even if you only had a 2 speed trans, if it's top gear ratio is .7:1, then you'll still only get to that same top speed figure (sans speed limiting governor) as the engine is capable to go...

It's not like if I had a 100 speed bicycle, I can go any faster then I could in top gear then on a 10 speed bicycle....

I see in your sig it says you have a power adder intake eh. Do you even know what a power adder is? You blown? Turbo'd? Runnin' the bottle? If so then you would already have a tune now wouldn't you.

And if it's the company name then they really need to think of something else...

Your gov is there for a reason. What speed rating is on your tires?

Tranny swap would be an actual project taking lots of planning, fab, time and money.
