New Truck Trouble. Sounds like a chain dragging.

I was talking to the guy who own the cleaners where I take my stuff. He has a 4x4 07 KR exactly like mine, but with 22k on the odometer. I was educating him on how to take care of his seats

Anywho, he has an issue that the dealer cannot figure out. He said that sometimes it feels like a chain is dragging under the truck with shudders. He slows down, and then said it feels like it pops when he gets to about 5 miles an hour? He also mentioned that it died randomly the other day while pulling out of a parking lot. The dealer tried to replicate it, but yall know how that goes. The truck only acts up when he's driving it. Any suggestion? Just thought it would be nice to help the guy out.

that sounds freakin horrible. tell him to take it back to the dealer, let them test drive it and figure it out. if they cant who else can? my trany took a shhh at around 47k miles. luckily i believe in extended warrenty. the only sound i had was the gears slaming in.

has the fluid level been checked and does the fluid look alright? sounds to me like torque convertor issues. it may have locked up on him and shut down his engine in the parking lot.

The dealer put 200 miles on the truck and it did nothing. It only has 22k on the odo. If the suggestions that yall posted are the problem, does anyone know how to replicate it? Like if its the COPS, give it lotsa gas and hold down the brake to make it miss.

if it tends to fail on a certain stretch of road, have him drive a technician on that same stretch so he can see what is going on.
