Tranny Torque

What is the limit of torque a 4r70 and 4r75 can handle??

per the ford specs, the 4R70W, 700 ft/lbs, and the 4R75W 750 ft/lbs. however, this is multiplied, and at the torque converter, so in reality, it is much less. there is no set amount, per se. how much power are you putting out right now?

There is a set amount. It's 700 lb-ft for the 4R70W, and 750 lb-ft for the 4R75W. Since the torque converter has a 2:1 torque multiplication, the trans is rated for half of those numbers.
