Well I was just saying, if I need 4lo im not going very fast anyways, so a shift to N and a brake application aren't hardly "a burden".

Id reach down & yank a lever back, rather than turn a **** and apply the brakes, any day.

yeah, i hate having to wait for 4lo to engage, much rather just yank it in. especially in those terribly sticky situations i tend to find myself in

I can't lie, I am quite happy with my manual shift t-case. The old touch-drive setup on my Bronco was problematic, and lead to a few hairy situations. I think a good old shift stick is fine with me... now if only Ford would offer the 5.4L with a beefy manual transmission.

Agreed, I'm constantly finding myself wanting to put a stick in my screw

you could always get a 250 with tha 5.4 & a stick
can you say solid front axle

Next tranny I put in, if $$ permits, will be a ZF 6 speed with the NVG t-case from a 250. My 3 inch body lift will accommodate the taller tranny. I lost count of how many M5ODs that I broke.

I nearly bought a 2002 F250 PSD 6spd before I got my truck, but it was not priced well.

Also a point to mention, with the '97-'03 vacuum lock center axle disconnect, and the '04+ integral vacuum lock hubs, ya ain't gonna swap in a set of manual warns like on an ole Dana 44 or 60.

To stir the pot more, manual tranny and transfer case forever! ESOF and autos are fer wussies...
