Under/Overdrive?

Auxiliary Transmission made by Gear Vendors

Has it been discussed here before?
Anyone know of anyone using one on a F150?
Anyone know if the 20% increase in fuel mileage claim is true?

Gear vendors secondary tranny is probably an option, although very pricey. However, according to their site, NA small blocks 5.4 do not have the low end torque to overcome the air resistance at highway speeds. Love to hear from anyone that has gone this route.

Thanks....

Last I heard, they don't work with drive by wire systems.

"Small block V8 engines (4.6, 5.0, 5.4) do not have the bottom end torque to push the trucks aerodynamics in double overdrive so on the small blocks your factory gear should be good (with the exception of the supercharged small blocks)."

Check their website. Even if they made one for the F-150, I would not bother to try the gear splitting, sounds like too much "driving" to me, lol.

Yeah, i have been reading about this product and wanted to make my 4 speed into an 8 speed. They do make one for the F150, they have had trouble getting it to work with the drive by wire system used on the 2004 and up F150's. From what I have been able to grasp, it would shift just like an 8 speed auto.
