87 f150 97 f150
I would like to know if it is possible for a 97 4x4 auto- w/transfer case will fit into 87, 88 f150. The 97 tranny came of a v8 not sure if it is 302 or bigger, to much fire damage and im not that familiar with the newer motors.
If all this will work does it also mean all the tranny wires have to be bypassed or maybe theres a plug. More info here would also be helpful.

Negitive.
Only way it could physically bolt to the motor is if the '97 is a 4.2L V6. The 4.6L/5.4L have a different bell pattern.
Aside from that, the 4.2L auto tranny is a 4R70w, which didn't make an appearance until '94, so you would need a standalone tranny controller computer to make it work in a pre '94.
Sorry boss, that dog won't hunt.

This truck is going to be the death off me. Heres the problem, if i prime the throttle body the damn thing starts until it run out of prime. The next step i took was pulling the outlet line off the fuel filter and turning the key on until a steady flow of gas came out so im guessing its not the pump. Is it possible that the pump is weak and is simply not delivering enough fuel. Even though theres fuel coming out of the filter shouldnt it still idle though? Any info will be a great help and very much appreciated, this is my business work truck and its very difficult to run a carpentry business without a truck.
